Sir Leo - the
Conductor Sir Leo is one of a
series of designs I've created focusing on amusing animal
musicians, the others being, Cool Cats - featuring a trio of
cats - a fiddler, a Horn and a Sax player - Big Boom Trio -
Elephant Timpanists and Carmina Monkeys - a tropical Monkey
band with a lead singer! All are amusing, colorful designs
to stitch. More will be added as inspiration
strikes......there is a Sir Leo at the keyboard in the
works. So far, I've used
various colors of Kreinik Soie d'Alger - Kreinik metallic
braid # 12 - A bit of glossy DMC Rayon floss and Anchor
Marlitt - Anchor and DMC Pearl Cotton #5 to needlepoint most
of this design - the canvas is about 75% stitched in the
picture. I was inspired to
paint a larger version of the Flying Carpet design on13 mesh
canvas to take advantage of the jeweled colors of Caron
Collection's Rachelette threads - perfect for the fantasy
figure's costume - adding just the right touch of shimmering
